I’ve recently been inspired by simple decorations in kids rooms. There’s so many amazing ways to decorate your child’s room out there and there are copious amounts of design blogs where you gush and go gaa gaa over the way people do up their kids rooms – I love it – but I do prefer the simple, designs that encourage peace, quiet and sleep in a bedroom. As you know from my posts (and if you know me) I am NOT a DIYer in any sense. And quite frankly I don’t have the time, effort nor money to go overboard with my decorating. My idea of decorating our house has involved getting 2nd hand furniture from street curbs, framing a few favourite prints and hanging them on the wall. That’s it. I know, terrible isn’t it? But, I am willing to do a bit of decorating if it isn’t too difficult. Putting wall flags definitely falls in the not-to-difficult-for-this-SSM range. Caroline Storie, a local Mom has a wonderful etsy store – My Noisy Boys designs (I am sold by the name alone!) and her wall flags are just what I was looking for. They are simple, affordable, personal (she will do custom designs and colours) and are printed on eco-friendly fabrics using non-toxic, water -based inks. She sent me the ‘The Train the Could’ Wall flag and of course my almost-4 year old LOVED it!! It hangs over his bed and as he sucks his thumb at bedtime he choo choo’s himself off into dreamland. And don’t forget Mom – I love this simply stylish tote bag – perfect for snacks, swimmers and sun-screen for a quick trip to the pool this summer!
