Lately I’ve been realising how little I spend on clothes and thus realise I must start spending some money on clothes (hehee). Here’s a couple of outfits for my fellow bloggers – Pleated Poppy and I’m Clothed Much. Unlike other bloggers, I am not a good photographer and have little time to get people take photos of me (nor really want people to take photos of me as I hate myself in photos!) But AS I am happy with these outfits simply because of the how much they cost (or how much they don’t cost!), I have summoned up enough courage to show them to you! Apologies for confusion about the days – I was too busy on Monday to post my Monday outfit so am putting two days together!
Here’s my Rule Breaking outfit: stripes on stripes! Elaine from I’m Clothed Much does stripes on stripes sooo well and I’m trying to replicate that.
Top – Armor Lux, a laundry room find* (free!)
Skirt – Anthropologie, a gift from a girlfriend (free!)
Belt – from a thrift store in Brooklyn, NYC ($5)
Shoes – wedges from Barcelona (circa 2001!) (again, too long ago to remember how much $)
* A word about my laundry room finds. I live in community housing and we have public laundry rooms and in each room is a dump box for people to donate their clothes, some of my favourite clothes for myself and my boys are ‘laundry room’ finds, I even think people who ask me where I got it think ‘the laundry room’ is a fancy store!! Hehee!!

My What I Wore Wednesday outfit is free! I normally wear my clothes swap finds mixed with clothes I actually purchased but when a friend commented on my outfit, I realised that each piece (aside from my underwear – snigger snigger) is from a clothes swap. How cool is that?!
Top – Ezekiel (private clothes swap)
Jeans – Bluenotes (Kits house clothes swap)
Belt – Jacob (private clothes swap)
Shoes – Target (Swap-o-rama @ Vancouver Museum 2010)
If you’re interested in clothes swaps check out my posts on them or attend Vancouver’s biggest clothes swap this Saturday 18th at Vancouver Museum. So much fun! And a great way for Moms with little $ to get some great clothes!
Happy Wednesday (and belated Monday!)
love, SSM

I need to do a clothes swap – I’ve heard they’re so much fun. How great that you got that cute outfit for free!!
i would love to hear more about the community housing!
you look great! love that belt and the stripes are so hip!
you look beautiful! I especially like your stripes-on-stripes outfit. xxx
Free and thrifted items are always the best. You look fabulous!
Cute outfits! I love the stripes, very stylish!!
Love the stripes on stripes, Very cute!! I need a community clothing drop box. I would go nuts over one of those!!!
Thanks Leslie – your curtain wrap is a-m-a-zing!! Way to create!
LOVE the top outfit. I’m with you, hate myself in pictures and I have no photographer husband/boyfriend/partner/friend to take pictures with their fancy camera! My husband just rolls his eyes when I ask him to take pictures of me because he knows it will be at least 30 takes before I’m happy with one!
{mommy chic} design. style. kids. life.
(laughing) soooo like my husband, he gets soooo frustrated when he’s in charge of the daily photo shoot. I much prefer getting a friend to do it!
